First of all I would like to thank you all for your comments on my previous post; I enjoyed reading all your viewpoints. One thing that strengthened my conviction more than ever was the fact that we all have our viewpoints and when considered with an open mind, they all seem to make some sense!! Only the subject knows it all!!! Sorry Correction…I enjoyed reading all your viewpoints only after I opened my mind
!!
Time. That’s a big factor in all our lives today and Technology plays a big role in saving time and effort. We are constantly looking to build faster machines: computers, cars …and now Sports even.
T20- This brand new phenomenon is set to bring about a revolution in the traditional concept of the game called cricket. The length of the modern day seems to have reduced drastically over the years, and people are constantly in the run to gain some extra hours!!
20/20 can definitely be squeezed in the otherwise busy day!!!
Was this the reason that led Nick Borcich – the father of 20/20 come out with this format of cricket?
At the time when most things went wrong for English cricket, this format has brought some life back to this game which was slowly losing sports viewership & the interest of its fans to mostly football; the famous ‘English Football League’
The English fans started getting bored with the lengthy county and the one day matches. Nick came up with this idea probably in his living room while watching a recorded one day international match & fast forwarding the tape to get the best parts of the game!!! He wanted to cut short the game to 3 – 4 hours rather than the lengthy 6-7 hours of play.
This format was ideal for the viewers who could turn out with family and friends and enjoy a couple of hours of good entertaining cricket. It is end to end cut-out for the spectators!!
It is this rush to make it so marketable and viewer friendly that some of the innovations are in place that would make some cricket purists cringe. Everything from the cheerleaders to a large number of sixers, the free-hits, the field restrictions, the bowl-outs gives the crowd and the spectators something to eagerly cheer every moment! I am curious to get the bowlers viewpoint on this though!!!
I have played some 20/20 matches and let me tell you that I didn’t enjoy playing it one bit. Everything had to be done in a hurry and the batting part was just not acceptable to me. It was only power slogging needed and did skill play a part really? I am sure most top batsmen in the world today have mixed feelings about this version as well. The Australians didn’t think highly of this format right from the start of the World Cup and it really did show on their performance and preparation or the lack of it.
I watched the first match in the recently concluded T20 world cup with a lot of skepticism. It soon turned out to be excitement galore and I immediately caught on to this format. There was no doubt in my mind that this was going to be a big success and that
India had the best chance of winning this World Cup. They didn’t disappoint me and all you fans alike!— This format of cricket is here to stay!! What say?!!

“Time and Tide Waits for None”
A very common Phrase for all of us. But, if we see it in depth, it contains all the capabilities and qualities required by an individual in todays fastest Growing & Limiting World.
A bit Confused…Why i am using GROWING and LIMITING together…Think on & on & on…U will surely get it cleared.
No doubt, TIME is the most important factor…be it clearing exams, doing alloted work, awakening or sleeping…even counts in it.
And Yeahh…TIME ones gone cant’ be back.
Sattar Minute..70 Min. Jam ke khelo…King Khan’s Best saying in Chak De…!!! I think you all remember it…
20-20 shows a new face 2 cricket…Really make new heros..Make a hit to the World Champions..Changed the past happenings..
50 over match a really boring one..But in twe-twe enthusiastic youth can expressed more..
The real spirit of cricket we saw thre..It’s a happiest moment 4 every Indian fans..Congrats to u the real hero Dhoni..n ur team..
Chak De…
Yes, as Indian Blue Team became champs in T20 world cup this format of cricket has certainly gained popularity in India.
But,this is purely a muscle game. The strategy required in 50 over games and test cricket format is what really classifies the cricketing skills of a person. This is evident from the recent series against Australia. Different people have different views over it. But to this brigade of budding cricketers along with experienced players, 50 overs are a real test, and the real benchmark to judge the real quality players.
Still, excitement and passion for the game has certainly tripled by the 20-20 format.
WE ARE THE CHAMPS AND WE’LL ALWAYS BE….in every aspect of the game.
Its really,a wonderfull methodology adopted by the cricket world. In modern world those who dont have time to watch the one day matches can use this oppurtunity. It is the new dimension in Cricket. To know about one who back bone for this T20 is new thing to me.Even though it needs lot of muscle power, really it is a great entertaining match.
Thank You

When time is at a premium these days for everything, T20 will stay. Agreed that it doesnt really test technique of a batsman or their concentration but the ability to adjust quickly and the hand/eye co-ordination is probably very important. The high intensity also takes a lot out of you physically I feel. Thinking about this, one can watch a T20 match without bunking office, the match can start at 8 PM and end by 11 which is cool. Cricket is commercialized and the focus will tend to shift in the direction in which money flows. Maybe, Test matches will happen in Dharwad and T20 in Bangalore!!
Well reading all the comments I am not left with anything to say..
I agree that T20 is a muscle game ..but
I think here the bowlers have more chance to prove their mettle and the batsman has to play each and every bowl ..
This is what which makes T20 more intresting and viable for the cricketers..
As u all know we Won the World Cup not only because of the Batsman but it was our bowlers who took important wickets and made the opposite team to stumble and crumple.T20 as such has brought a new dimension to cricket and was in all a complete team contribution.
