thank you for the information...........

I want to know if it is possible for a mechanical guy to work successfully at wipro..... can he expect to work in the mechanical field or he must work as a software engineer only............... sir pleas reply
Hi Dharmaraj,

As far as I know, Wipro Technologies caters to business involving software/ hardware (electronics) development/maintenance. This could include software controlled mechanical system. We have people from all backgrounds including mechanical, chemical, metallurgical engineering, ofcourse working as software engineers after undergoing training and they are doing well. Hope I cleared your doubts.

regards,
Sanat
Hey!
M Shweta Varma, got recruited by Wipro for the batch 2008 B.Tech(CS).
Jus went through the various articles n found 'em really informative , interesting n motivating. Hoping that it'll help me improve my performance after joining Wipro.
Now m even more excited n eager to join Wipro asap.. Hope to get the joining details soon.
I'd like to know are there any specific foreign languages that i can learn which will help me later in future??

Regards,
Shweta
Hi Shweta,

First, Welcome to Wipro!! As for foreign languages you'll have so many options that you'll have a tough time choosing one.
Better decide on one before joining! Haha... Just Joking!!

A couple of my friends have already undergone training in French and German, within Wipro while being in projects. Today we received a mail for a five-and-a-half-month training program in japanese, called Shimpo. I am sure you'll find many more.

Regards,
Sanat
hi sir what is the importance of frp ?should i take a serious preparation of it?ll there be any test on it after going to wipro?
Hi thripuranath,

Doing well in frp is important as it creates the first impression in the organization and performance during training is also considered for future opportunities within Wipro. Do prepare for it, but take it easy...It isn't difficult to crack these tests if you're regular and well prepared. All the Best:)
Hi sanat,, I have a few queries..

How wipro support higher studies?I mean would like to do either MBA or MTech after joining wipro. What all facilities will be supplied by wipro?

Another one is that i heard that a few of the MNCs are giving such a huge work load to freshers that they wont get much time even to relax.does wipro belong to that list?Whats the work time at wipro?

regds....,vkt
Hi vkt,

Wipro has already anounced a 3 yr Mtech program for the 2006 batch of joinees in collaboration with BITS Pilani with specialization in a couple of domains related to Networking,Telecom,Embedded sys. etc. covering around 300-400 people across 3 to 4 locations. More such batches are expected to start later this year. This is probably the very answer you were looking for. :) Besides we have MBA programs in collaboration with IIM Banagalore, Symbiosis etc. Of course, you could also take a sabbatical (leave) for persuing higher studies after completing two years of service.

As for workload, the only thing that I would say is workload is a relative term. If two people (first one likes the work and the second doesn't) are asked to do that work for say 12 hrs, the first one would say I learnt a lot today and I'd like to do this tomorrow and the second would say I was loaded with too much work and I can't take that much load again. The important thing is to love whatever you do otherwise the going could be tough...

The official timings are 8:30AM - 6:00PM

Best of luck!!
Hi Mr.Sanat i am Sulthan BE(Electronics and Instrumentation) awaiting the call letter from wipro and i am given the date of joining as jan 2008.
I heard that there are competency exams in Wipro held during the training sessions....

Will it be easy to score high in the assessments conducted during the training sessions even for a student from a discipline other than computer science and IT?
hope the training session will improve the soft skills of each and every cadet of Wipro from various disciplines. Thank you....
Hi Sulthan,

It is very much possible for a Non-CS/IT guy to get good marks. I would just advise you to start developing your C/C programming skills now itself and get comfortable with data structures. Everything will go fine. Best of Luck!
